There's only one thing that face could mean... someone's about to get it!

Good luck sleeping. :) (Very cute!)

thank you for the fastest smile on my face this morning!

Our family got Jacob in 1977, when I was 16. He was a combination of sweetness and nuttiness like no other cat I have ever known. He didn't like to sleep with people often, but every once in a while, as I was sitting in bed reading, Jacob would come through the door purring loudly and jump up in bed and snuggle next to me.

When it was time for bed, and I was putting away the book and turning out the light, Jacob would, with a theatrical show of politeness, get up and sit on the corner of the bed, patiently waiting for me to put everything away and get under the blankets. Then he would find a good snuggle spot next to my legs (he never slept with you above the waist).

But that was it, as far as Jacob was concerned. He had given me the chance to find my position, and then he expected me to keep *completely* still. When my legs would move, he would attack them through the blankets -- and not playfully! Scolding would not stop him; he had a moral sense that he had made his accommodation, and it was my turn.

As much as I loved having him in bed with me, most nights I ended up having to kick him out. He bit my legs and feet hard when they moved!

Great story about a great kitty! Thank you for sharing!

Jacob looked a lot like Smudge in your new post, only with a gray tail in addition to his gray head patch.

There are anywhere from 8-10 cats in our bedroom at any time (there are 2 who are upstairs/downstairs cats) and at least 5 on the bed almost all the time. My husband has to work out of state 2-3 days a week, so the cats will take over "his" side of the bed. Yesterday morning woke up to find that the cats had maneuvered me into one small section of the bed.

It was like this:

I remember one night my husband came up to bed and 7 cats looked at him with the expressions "We were here first, YOU sleep on the floor." :D

I sure hope you have a king sized bed! We just have a queen because the bedroom is small, but I'm to a point where I don't care! I just want to stretch out. I'm sore from last night. Once again, I slept like a pretzel!

Did you guys adopt Melody?? Or did that other lady?

Love this picture!
