You are here

The Birth of a Book.

It's said you're never more than 3 feet away from a spider. Even if you can't see them, they're there. Lurking. Waiting to crawl in your hair or suck your eyeball juice out. In my house, you're never more than 3 feet away from a cat. Even if you can't see them, they're there. Lurking. Waiting to crawl onto your face and try to hatch your head like an egg. It occured to me that instead of feeling distressed, I should take the challenges of living in an 8-cat family home, and put that PAIN into something worthwhile and possibly even funny, a memoir of my life with cats. I'm about one third through the first draft of my book: "Covered in Cat Hair: The Mostly True Stories of a Life Spent with Cats." Now that I have the first 20,000 or so words kicked out, I thought it would be a good time to get going on creating a web site where I could get some feedback, share my insights and hopefully find a good publisher while I'm at it. Even if my work is never published, it will live here, along with some funny blog entries, ever-changing poll topics, a forum for cat lovers and whatever else I can dig up. Please visit any time and feel free to share your cat stories with me and maybe even make a friend or two, along the way. Gotta go feed the cats. More later. i love this website you have created. it gives us real cat owned humans a place t

to chat about our felines and how we think and what the cats are saying.

they really do say a lot you know that yourself. i have had many years of rescue

and it never ceases to amaze me how "disposable" humans seem to think

animals are. it truely discusts me to be linked with humans. they are mean,

unthinking, uncaring.

i have found some better humans along my path and some that i have taught

to be better humans. so all is not lost but as you so wisely stated in your

blog about jasper, i always pray that the abused babies get better homes and

if they were to stay at the pearly gate to wait for us that's ok too.

Hi Robin,

Though you have stories on your site, I'd love to read the book if you should ever get a chance to publish it.

By now I'm sure you know all about the publishing routes - Amazon print on demand, Kindle, or a PDF ebook.

Please let me know if you do publish it. As a cat fosterer, I'm sure I'd enjoy the read.
