Not on My Watch: Warning-Shocking Photos. Maine Coon Needs Our Help!

Once he was a big, lovely Maine Coon. He was neutered and declawed, but did not lose his dignity when he lost his toes. He was starved and abused to the point where he is now nearly dead. His coat is matted and barbered by a scissor. He has an old eye injury and ear injury that have now healed.

With all that he has suffered, he's still loving and friendly and wants to be held. We simply MUST DO ALL IN OUR POWER to help get the word out that this cat NEEDS A RESCUE. HE IS IN SUCH POOR BODY CONDITION THAT HE CANNOT BE ADOPTED. HE NEEDS IMMEDIATE VET CARE. HE NEEDS A RECUE GROUP TO STEP UP AND OFFER TO HELP HIM-ASAP.

THE INFORMATION, BELOW THE PHOTOS IS DIRECTLY FROM HENRY CO CARE & CONTROL in McDONOUGH, GA.:

I can't tell you how angry I am. How sick some people make me-what they do, or rather, don't do for their animal companions. There is no justification for the treatment of this cat-none. If I could get my hands on who did this to this big boy...if only...I would let them find out how nice it is to be slowed starved to death.

Even with his rough looks, this cat is a love bug.

So what are we going to do, gang? How can we help this boy? For all I know a rescue group has already stepped up to save him, if not, we need to pool our resources. I can help with fundraising for him, get him pulled and get him to a Vet. I may have a foster home for him, but not sure. What I really need is a GA Licensed rescue to step up to take him and I will still help with fundraising. It's the least I can do. It's tough not to jump in the car and drive down there and go get him right now.

We are very rescue friendly and are more than happy to work with any rescue group as long as the group has a valid Georgia Department of Agriculture license! Any rescue group, whether in or out of state, that takes pets from Georgia shelters, is required, by Georgia law, to have a rescue license issued by the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Animal Protection Division. Having tax exempt status is not the same as a license. For more information on obtaining a license, please call (404) 656-4914.

Oh Robin I am in tears, this boy looks like one of my own that was formerly feral. Another of mine who came to me and finally allowed me to help him after he survived two of our three hurricanes in a row in 2004 looked very much like the boy in the picture other than color. My boy was a feral though and not someone who was left defenseless then dumped.

Bless you for what you are doing. I am struggling with my crew right now as you know but please know that like so many others we adore you for what you do for these wee ones. They are so INNOCENT.

You were right to warn people about viewing the pictures. Heart wrenching does not describe the feeling.

Do you have the personal information on the people that had this cat? If so, I'd be running to a lawyer or someone to have these evil people prosecuted. There has to be laws on the books that can bring these people to justice. I don't think there's anyone that wouldn't be furious to see this.

There is absolutely no excuse for this, NONE!!!!!

I'm on the verge of tears from this picture....WHO could do this???? I'll donate if you start a fund raiser....whatever I can to help this poor boy...I'm so disgusted right now.

This poor boy! My heart breaks for him...I just will never understand how soeone could be so cruel to any animal. I hope he finds a loving home soon. I hope the Karma of the person who did this is swift in coming. Blessings to you for sharing this and Blessings to those who can step up and help.

This handsome boy looks awful, but is bound to be living the lush life once his pictures make the rounds today. Where did he come from and/or how did A/C get him? Was he just wandering the streets, or left in a drop box? None of it really matters, I'm just curious and disgusted, as it's obvious he was in someone's 'care' for at least a period of time. Microchips will eventually become the norm and perhaps some of this kind of ABUSE will not happen.

Lovin' PurrZ from me and my clutter of 9 catZ, with a few soft HeadButtZ too.

Atlanta resident; am willing to drive this guy wherever he needs to go (within 200 miles of Henry Co.). Let me know if I can be of service!

Kitty is rescued, but we always need volunteers to drive from a shelter to a Vet. If you can please email me your contact information, I can keep you in my database and possibly call on you one day for some help. If that would be all right you can reach me at: info@coveredincathair.com

posted on their facebook page that they pulled him and are taking him to the vet. :) I am sure there will be a fundraiser for him soon.

It breaks my heart to see this poor boy... I just rescued a mixed Main Coon from a rescue and the poor boy was so sick he gave all my animals ring worm and for them it was easy to get rid of but for him it was systemic... He lost all of his hair twice and both of his retina's detached... After many vet visits to our regular vet + an eye specialist and dermatologist he is looking beautiful... I was never a cat person until came to love this wonderful animal... His personality is exceptional he loves his paws massaged but hates having his nails capped, I try to do it as quickly as possible... I wish the best for your boy...

Nancy
