Not on My Watch: Remember Cow Mama?!

This past June, myself and Dorian Wagner of Your Daily Cute, worked our butts off to find someone to help us rescue a sweet “Cow Mama” and her super cute cow-kittens. Time was running out and I really didn't think we stood a chance to save them. At, literally the last minute, the day they were set to be euthanized, Jennifer H. from The Humane Society of Forsyth County stepped up and offered to take them. The rest, is history...

Until today...I got a comment from Cow Mama's ADOPTER! She wrote a lovely message I wanted to make sure ALL of you got to read:

I just want to say...thank you! We are now the family who get to love on this sweet mama cat everyday!

My son turned 5 last month, and had been asking for a cat. On his birthday we visited the Humane Society of Forsyth. We entered the cat room where mama was staying, and she walked right up to us. I sat down on a chair, and she jumped up, curled up, and started purring. We looked at all of the other cats and went home to think on it. Yet all I could think of was this cat who literally was choosing us. This cat that was so gentle and friendly....I just knew she would be a good fit for our family.

We have had her for a couple weeks now. My son named her Lola, but she is often called Mama. She snuggles in his bed with him each night and listens as he talks endlessly to her. I get a sense that she is very thankful, both to have a warm bed and bodies to snuggle with.... and thankful to those who saved her and her babies.

Just wanted you to know all your efforts are appreciated, and that this sweet girl has landed in a loving place :)

I don't know about you, but I really needed a reason so smile and I just got one! This news made my day!

Okay, this is absolutely so sweet. She gets in bed with the 5 year old and listens while he talks to her. Oh, my. I hope you realize that this kitty, thanks to your diligence, will be immortalized in this child's memory forever. His first cat, who loved him dearly & was his best friend as he grew up. Just so very, very special.

Sweet family!

That is so wonderful. There were so many lives saved that day.

Thanks, Robin and Dorian, for caring so much and saving this precious family! Do you know anything about what happened to the cow kittens?

I'm so glad this young mama found such a wonderful, loving home where she will be appreciated and adored appropriately!

Yep - this is why we do what we do.....just one good story and happy ending can make you float for days. :) Good work!!

I was thinking about cow mama the other day..so thrilled you got an update on her! It sounds like she is in a wonderful home. The best thing in the world is getting a happy update on a cat you helped save..and knowing they are doing so well in a loving home!

Loved this post from the adopter of Cow Mama. She's landed in a wonderful home.

I've had many rescue animals, dogs and cats, and they absolutely do know that you have saved them. In my experience they are the sweetest pets, forever grateful.

What a lovely outome for this dear, sweet little Mummy cat - hopefully her babies found loving homes, or do we not know of their outcome. Just hope they were/are fostered by someone who could keep them until loving homes could be found for them. I have 3 black & white cats, and they all have the sweetest natures. Heart-warming story, and lovely to know that little boy has so much love for his precious little mama (Lola) cat. He is obviously a lovely little boy. God bless you for seeing the love this cat would give you.

We adopted two of these precious kittens last August...Moonet, who's back resembles a domino, and Minnie Moo, who has a crescent moon on her back.  Now renamed Annabelle Lee and Princeton James (regal sounding for their little rags to riches story), these kittens are the sweetest animals and have truly become part of the family.  In honor of their first birthday tomorrow, my husband and I were searching for old web pages and found this.  We hear the other two kittens were also adopted together.  We are so thankful these kittens were rescued and somehow found their way into our arms!
