Our CiCH friend, Andrew, sent me an urgent message from a Siamese Rescue group regarding the dumping of a 23 year old Siamese cat. I'm forwarding their plea, along with the URL for the cat's Petfinder ad. If you live in the LA area and can help, please do so soon. This cat does not have much time left.
Max is a *23 year old* GORGEOUS *Chocolate point Siamese* dumped at SOUTH LA HIGH KILL SHELTER. We all know max is probably not going to live very much longer, *but I think as human humans being we should all band together to get him out of THAT TERRIFYING SHELTER and examined, and if he is just old, give a him a gentle place to lay and a lot of love until he passes naturally.* However, if he in fact is in immense pain or anything of the like ( im not sure of his condition) he AT LEAST deserves to NOT die
abandoned in a shelter like this, rotting.
THIS IS SICKENING. THIS IS SO BEYOND REPREHENSIBLE to dump your 23 year old cat, and a beauty at that!!! PLEASE HELP!!! Look at his big *BLUE eyes, so sad*~ wondering where his family is... don't let him die and be put in a
freezer at S. LA shelter. He deserves so much better. PLEASE...do it for
him, do it for any sliver of humanity that may remain in this sick world....
*South LA shelter: 213-485-0117 or -0119*

Thank you, Robin!
This poor soul does not deserve this.
There is a post on Catster that he will be adopted
http://www.catster.com/forums/Shelters_Rescue_and_Fostering/thread/646675
I am hoping to confirm his adoption. Obviously, great news if true, but all I have is the forum post above.
Awesome!
Please confirm so I can get the word out. Thank you for the post, Andrew!!
Will let you know anything I hear
He is still at the shelter
An IP (interested party) has been placed on him to buy him time.
Heard he is rescued
@lifesapet on Twitter (lifesapet.blogspot.com) has DM'ed me that Max has rescue at Kris Kelly: http://www.thekriskellyfoundation.org/index.php
Good initial news
Report is that "the little guy [is] pretty spry." :)
Thank you, again, for your help and support!
Glad Max is safe!!
I am SO SICK!!! of reading about people dumping their senior pets (or any pets for that matter) When you adopt a pet it is for their entire life not until you are tired of them and think the cute puppy in the window is so much more fun than your aging pet. Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, etc are not washers and dryers to be returned on a whim. I know I am preaching to the choir here but I am so frustrated with people.
I received an email over the weekend that a family dumped their 25 yr old Pomeranian. WTF is wrong with people? I just want to remind everyone who has dumped a senior pet one day you will be old and karma is a big "b".
I immediately started calling and emailing rescue contacts for the poor dear. In the midst of doing so I was told the 25 yr old Pomeranian has been invited to live out her days at a sanctuary in FL where she will be cherished and loved until she crosses The Bridge.
