It's said you're never more than 3 feet away from a spider. Even if you can't see them, they're there. Lurking. Waiting to crawl in your hair or suck your eyeball juice out.
In my house, you're never more than 3 feet away from a cat. Even if you can't see them, they're there. Lurking. Waiting to crawl onto your face and try to hatch your head like an egg.
It occured to me that instead of feeling distressed, I should take the challenges of living in an 8-cat family home, and put that PAIN into something worthwhile and possibly even funny, a memoir of my life with cats.
I'm about one third through the first draft of my book: "Covered in Cat Hair: The Mostly True Stories of a Life Spent with Cats." Now that I have the first 20,000 or so words kicked out, I thought it would be a good time to get going on creating a web site where I could get some feedback, share my insights and hopefully find a good publisher while I'm at it.
Even if my work is never published, it will live here, along with some funny blog entries, ever-changing poll topics, a forum for cat lovers and whatever else I can dig up.
Please visit any time and feel free to share your cat stories with me and maybe even make a friend or two, along the way.
Gotta go feed the cats. More later.
Your humble hostess,
Robin Olson aka: Kitty
