My cat Apple has recently developed a problem when she eats or purrs she does a "gulping" reflex like "hiccups" in humans but with a pronounced moving forward of the head.

I took her to the vets and she examined her,she could only find a little tenderness around Apple's larynx when she touched her neck and it made her gulp.The vet suggested full blood checks to rule out inflammation or signs of a tumour (lots of white cells in the blood who indicate a problem) but all bloods came back normal (thankfully)

I adopted two kittens from the local shelter in January. They were not litter-mates, but were born 3 days apart and brought into the shelter around the same time and were sharing a cage at the shelter. They are now 6 months old. They were both the same size and weight when we adopted them. 3 months later the female is 7 pounds, and the male is only 4.8 pounds. He's so tiny compared to her! In just the past month, she gained a pound and a half while he only gained .2 ounces.

So....my brother rescued three, five-year old cats two days ago. Their owner died leaving them with no place to go. They were originally rescued from an alley at three months old. They are litter mates, and are completely indoor cats now. There are two boys and one girl. The owner had been in the hospital for almost two months before she passed away, and my brother visited them regularly to care for them, but has since brought them to his apartment

He has two beloved cats of his own.

"No good deed goes unpunished" - Those were the words my dear sweet hubby said to me when we found out that our latest addition (Heinie) had a raging case of ringworm.
Ringworm is NOT a worm! it is a fungal infection similar to athlete's foot or jock itch. It is an infection that can be spread "inter-specially" (if that is a word).

Have any of you dealt with colic in itty bitty kittens? I have bottle babies who are about 2 weeks old and one suddenly isn't eating as much and is crying a lot. I'm going to try to help him pass gas after work. He eats a bit at all feeding, but not with as much gusto as he used to. I gave him some sugar water with his noon feeding to bop his blood sugar up. Any tips? Halp, my little guy has a tummy ache!
