Truly Humbled

I'm really choked up right now. After three years of writing stories about my life with cats and feeling fine about basically talking to myself, (I think I had about 20 visitors a day if I was lucky) I am humbled and surprised to learn that people not only read my words, but find some inspiration and hope in them.

I want to particularly thank Michelle, Stephanie and Anne for their heartfelt comments regarding the post about my Mother. It's a great gift to read your stories about your life. We share our suffering-how we got there is a different path, but we know the sting of difficult relationships and it binds us together.

To all the good people who have been supportive of my crazy desire to save every single cat from death, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Thank you for following Tweetie's story and for learning that even a troubled feral kitten can one day be a shining star! Thank you for enjoying my stories and goofy photos. I love to share them with all of you and it provides me an outlet for those days when cat rescue or my own cats drive me to the edge of despair.

I do not feel worthy of the virtual hug you've given me, but I'm determined to earn it each and every day. I have many more stories to share, so I better get back to it.

Until then, know, from the bottom of my cold, shriveled heart that I am very grateful to you for visiting Covered in Cat Hair and taking the time to let me know you're rooting for me!

Thank you very much and Good Night.

Robin-
You certainly deserve every hug real or virtual that you receive.
I was away this weekend and am just catching up on your blog.
Sending a big hug to you and I am going to send some $ to the Georgia shelters,
so hoping that will help those Momma and babies. That is just heartbreaking....
really just so terrible.

Life in in transition here, but I think if I could I would want to adopt all the stray kitties
everywhere!

There is a big problem here in Canada as well with spay and neutering.
They are even worse about it than we are in the US if you can believe it.
I adopted my buddy Sunny cat who was stray, starving orange long hair tabby on the streets here last October.
He all but just slept and ate for the first two weeks he was with us. Poor guy just had no energy.
But he filled out in no time and settled in like he had lived here forever.
The shelter here is a privately funded no kill one and they weren't even taking anymore kitties.
So Sunny had his luckiest day ever, cause we fell in love with him right away.

They are now finally offering spay/neut clinics here in the town that I live in for the first time ever!
I am a regular visitor to the shelter taking in food, toys and blankets and towels, and
I almost walk out with a cat every time I visit there. There was a beautiful black long hair
kitten with light blue eyes there last weekend alone in a cage in the lobby. I fell in love with him
the moment I saw him and cuddled with him for quite a while. I wanted to take him home and name him Diego.
When I asked the shelter attendant why he was alone, they said that all of his brothers and sisters who were ginger cats had been adopted in the past few days...and she said people do not often adopt black cats...I was horrified. How stupid. I would have taken him in a second, but my husband says two is enough for right now as we are moving back to the US at the end of the year. )-:

Once again I say THANK YOU so MUCH for the all the hard work you do!
Take good care!
Michelle & Sunny too.
